410 stainless steel tubing annealed properties are that it is magnetic in both the hardened condition, as well as in the annealed condition. The Chemical Composition of 410 stainless steel is Silicon 1.0, Chromium 11.5 min.-13.5 max., Sulfur 0.03, Nickel 0.75, Phosphorus 0.04, Manganese 1.0, Carbon 0.08 min.-0.15 max., and Iron balance. 410 stainless steel can be heat treated and this will give a vast number of mechanical properties. 410 stainless steel is used in applications that involve high strength, heat resistance and mild corrosion. The Density of 410 stainless steel is 7.74 g/cm3 (0.28 lbs/in3). 410 stainless steel has a Thermal Conductivity of 24.9 W/m-°K (14.4 BTU/hr/ft2/ft/°F).

UNS S41000 equivalent grades are grade 410 stainless steel. UNS S41000 is a general purpose stainless steel, that contains 12% chromium. UNS S41000 is a martensitic stainless steel. UNS S41000 has high strength and hardness. UNS S41000 is ductile. The Specific Heat of UNS S41000 is 0.11 BTU/lb-°F (32 - 212 °F) [(0.46 J/kg-°K (0 - 100 °C).] The Melting Range of UNS S41000 is 1480 - 1530 °C (2700 - 2790 °F). It is possible to improve the corrosion resistance of UNS S41000 by implementing a series of processes such as hardening, tempering and polishing.
